Sept 9th, 2004 - WHPSC 2004 is under way - On the spot reporting
by Dave Larrington, self proclaimed farging lying journalist scum.
Sept 1st, 2004 - Though George Georgiev of the Varna team
has some amazing new fairings in the works,
this year Sam Whittingham will once again race the Varna Diablo II.
Sam recently set a new world record in the 1 hour TT at the Opel
track in Germany using this bike. Steve Copland's Velociraptor
will not be completed in time for this year's event, but he says he
will be "ready to ride in 05".
Aug 27th, 2004 - Due to the injuries that Damjan Zabovnik suffered
when crashing during the 1 hour speed trials at the Opel test track
in Germany, the Eivie team will not be competing at the WHPSC this
year.
Aug 18th, 2004 - Brian Held will be racing the Varnowski Varna clone built by Steve Nash and Joe Kochanowski for the first three days. Steve is looking for a fast volunteer to race the bike the last three days.
Aug 17th, 2004 - Lisa Tonello, a CAT 1/2 racer in SoCal and
owner of the Bike Barn of Santa
Maria (soon to be the largest female owned bicycle store in the
World), will be racing for Bill Patterson's team. She'll be riding
the yellow Varna.
Aug 11th, 2004 - Orin Macquarrie has confirmed he is coming,
with his high wheeler Varna clone.
Aug 5th, 2004 - The White Hawk team is coming to BM this
rear with riders Ellen van Vugt and Hans Wessels.
Aug 3rd, 2004 - Some news tidbits: Gardner Martin
& the Easy Racer team will be there, and will be debuting a
radical new trike. Despite their recent setback, Matjaz and the the
Eivie team is still going to try to make it this year. Steve
Copeland is hard at work on a low frontal area prone speedbike, and
is trying to finish in time for this years event. Chris Bechtel
will debut his new speedbike, the "Time Machine".

July 9th 2004 - New Hotel for WHPSC 2004! The Super 8 motel will offer rooms
for $38/day plus tax if we can all stay there. The Super 8 has continental breakfast, extra large rooms, a meeting room, an indoor pool and hot tub. It is located within two blocks of the Civic Center, and essentially at the intersection of Highway 305 and Interstate 80. This is an INCREDIBLE rate.
We will need to get need 35 rooms for 6 nights to get this rate, so
please make reservations now!

July 7th 2004 - Updated the racer profiles for the Varna,
Rotator, and Weaver
teams.
June 2004 - Jonathan Woolrich is the new race director for
2004. Jonathan has been a participant in the event from it's
inception, and decided he's ready to take the reins.
May 2004 - Carole Leone has volunteered to take
the reins as race director for the second year in a row, with help from
Al Krause and a host of volunteers.
May 2004 - Garrie Hill is once again offering the .decimach
prize money of over $23,000 for the first 82MPH run, or
lesser 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes to the racers that go the fastest. Also
he's offering a prize to the fastest woman, provided that more than
one woman races in the event.
Jan 2004 - Date has been
set for Monday Sept 13th through Saturday Sept 18th
