| In 2003, Matt Weaver came to BM with a new
speedbike called the Cutting
Edge II, which was a rebuild of Virtual Edge. It had been modified to accommodate dual 26" tubular tires, and a dual
stage 27-speed chain/high torque belt drive train. This new bike has a
carbon fiber frame/forks/fixed wheel covers and a beautiful red paint job.
This bike features a novel computer controlled steering damper, which is
designed to help control the bike at the dangerous speeds above 80MPH.
Matt also brought the bike he raced in 2002, the Kyle Edge camera bike. Matt did not race in 2003 for safety reasons.
What will he bring this year?
Matt is currently using this bike to
attempt to the break 1 hour speed record and win the Dempsey-MccCready
prize. Unfortunately, track time and good weather are hard to get,
and even more difficult to get at the same time.
