WISIL Cheddar Cheese Challenge 2001 HPRA HPV Race Results
Kenosha, Wisconsin - Washington Park velodrome - July 15th, 2001

Thanks to race organizer Dan Glatch, race director Len Brunkalla, and a cast of thousands. The weather cooperated and 42 racers enjoyed this second day of HPV racing. The first race was a flying 200 Meter sprint. Unfaired racers got 1 lap to get up to speed, faired class racers got 2 laps, and streamliners could have up to 3 laps. The second race was the lap race. "Specialty" classes raced a 10 lap race, stock class racers raced a 30 lap race, and faired racers raced a 30 lap race. The last race was the "last man out" race, with 3 separate races along the same class breakup as before. A new rule for the last man out races that made things more challenging for the racers, and interesting for the spectators was that you could not overtake the field, which meant that the fastest racers who were about to lap the slowest racers could not pass the slowest racers until they were out, which led to plenty of sprints.
