The Wisconsin classic is famous for it's wide variety of racing venues. The one hour race on a 1 mile track, the drag race, and hill climb will live on in infamy. This is the final year of racing at the MGA test facility because of deteriorating track conditions (Funny thing, the Hummer cruising around and around the next day didn't seem to be bothered at all). The 1 mile track proved to be a "test to destruction" track for many vehicles. I had problems with my chain bouncing off (causing a crash in one case), Giles Poirier suffered headtube mashing and had to repair it before the drag races and Garrie Hill almost lost his rear fairing due to bolts ripping through Coroplast. All of the commercially produced recumbent bikes survived without damage. Other than the road problems, it was great fun. Racing at the Kenosha velodrome is always a blast. At high speeds the highly banked corners push you down in your seat from the increased G forces. Streamliners go so fast that the bike is actually parallel to the ground. You can see right into the fairing through the windshield while observing from the infield.
