They dont keep times for 20K other than as part of the 40k. The only time I am aware of unfaired recumbents riding was 8/17/2011 where both myself (Bachetta Corsa) an Rich Putich (Rans) rode.

1st 20K (MK 28:34, RP 29:10)
2nd 20K (MK 28:56, RP 29.28)

For the 10 mile TT

I think the following are the unfaired recumbent records (Personal Bests)
22:21 (Mark King Bacchetta 8/10/2011)
23:12 (Greg Thomas: Raptobike: 4/18/12)
23:15 (Rich Putich: Rans: 8/10/2011)

No recumbents out there tonight. The county chipsealed mile 2.5 to 3.5 (including the 90 degree corner). The 90 degree corner which is a little dangerous at the best of times was an inch deep in gravel in places. My cyclo cross skills were put to the test but some one else was not so lucky. We had the paramedics out on course again tonight :(

Hopefuly by the next race in two weeks the loose gravel will have got better.

I did a 22:36 tonight on the TT bike. Winning time was a 21:32 (Jesse Moore). It was a hard night.

Shoot, I was planning to do this race next month. Hopefully it's cleared up by then. I see you did the Folsom Canal TT. That's been my primary training ground for the last couple of years. It's a pretty interesting course, isn't it? For the 10-mile TTs that are run bi-weekly the turnaround is at the top of the little hill just before the turnaround for the 11-mile TT. It's helpful for slowing down and rebuilding momentum.

I don't know what was up with the animal carcasses, that's not typical but at least there is much less vegetation growing up through the road these days. It's definitely a big wheel friendly(er) course.

"Thank you to everybody who came out to brave the heat and the new surface on Putah Creek Road. If you had a relatively fast time then you should be very happy. With the addition of the newly planted trees and now the new pavement, those PR's of last year are going to be a little harder to break."

Good luck today Mark!

Greg and I are not coming, he is recovering from a case of road rash and I'm still not firing on all cylinders.

That chip seal section really sucks! My speed dropped 2 mph! Three skinny, high pressure wheels + chip seal is a bad combination. Will have to try bigger tires and less pressure on the 11th.

I had a ton of luck with Vittoria Corsa EX tubies on one of the local chipseal courses. Even with the new chipseal and horrible gravel corners, I still had one of my fastest TT's

Mark, Greg was was doing some training sprints in the Varna w/o the top and went down at 25 mph. The bike is ok, Greg has some road rash on his upper thigh and hip areas. Can't ride in the recumbent position for a while, so he is training on an upright.

Tim, I've also had good luck with Vittoria Corsa Open Pro CX tires on rough roads (even skinny 20mm ones). They are very supple, so I'm sure that does the trick. Latex tubes also help a lot.

I think its going to be way too hot for a British person on Wednesday but I am going to give it a go. Shame my TT bike doesnt have a water bottle on it.

I hope that new chip seal doesnt start melting.

Hey, at least the wind is supposed to be low. :-)

Maybe the heat will sink the pebbles deeper into the asphalt.

Greg is bringing his new Fujin.

Mark, good job! I see you are close to 27mph again despite the rougher road.
BTW, where are you getting the results? Peter and I are not receiving them by email anymore.

Good job, guys. Even the rarely seen Mr. Gillette made it. Maybe he will dig out his laid flat highracer and show us how it's done.

I'd have to literally dig it out (of the local landfill) so I'm just going to have to settle with tweaking my cargo trike until my velomobile comes.

Are the pictures from last week's event out yet? That will surely be good for a laugh.

Randy, so that's what you look like actually sitting a bit upright? Nice deltoids man! you're ripped, with good aero transition to the tailbox. Did you remember to shave? - the arm hair?
But only 23.65 mph in a TT? (granted it's on a trike)? Get that lowracer back out of the trash heap! You're a 30 mph man!
