Can someone explain to me why that velo is not blowing the doors off of everything in front of it? Nice new officals podium!

Tom Amick and I are determing whether to drive back that night as the public is invited to ride the course of the ToC final stage in downtown LA before the race.

I've bugged others in my cycling club (upright) down here to make the drive for one chance to ride fast on a velodrome, but none are interested. Too far.

Mark, you had better watch out! My son has been spinning up a storm on his trike in preparation for the race. He is excited to get on the track.
I hope that some other juniors show up. If not maybe you could do a 1k pursuit with him.

Peter,
Weren't you at the Encino velodrome dropping off Christina at college just a couple of years ago? Must have been more than a couple.

Larry,

It's funny you mentioned the Encino trip, I was thinking about the same thing. It was 5 years ago...

Greg Thomas kicks ass in his Quest. Such speed in the half hour race.
While Phil Plath puts it to the rest of us.

Larry, If memory serves me Greg passed us 16 times in 30 minutes! My goodness.

Drafting for me was out of the question, Greg was simply too fast, and you and Phil were just too low to the ground, I must say though I enjoyed the fast laps when I was sandwiched between you and Phil, sure would be a great photo if someone has it.....

Great weather and good time.....

It was great to see everyone. The highlight of my day was seeing 6 year old on the track and even averaging 15mph in the 200m sprint. He really enjoyed the attention he got in the father/son race.
There were some really nice bikes and strong riders. I wish the streamliners would have raced in more than just the 200m. Hopefully next year we can get more faired bikes on the track.

Being compiled by George and Carol. I will probably be posting them up whenever I get them. It was definitely a fun event.

I had a great time up there at Hellyer. It was fun to meet some new people, and reunite with old ones. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet everyone I would have liked to. I would have liked to talk with Rick Putich now that I have figured out that he was the pilot of the super long recumbent. I did get an excellent picture of Rick giving me the peace sign while doing a warm-up ride. Also I missed not having some competitors on the track like Peter Borenstadt, and Mark King. Well, there's always next year.
