I will post a calendar event with more details in the next few days but thought I would post the dates as several people have made enquiries with me.

Warren, if you finish your cruiser in time you can enter it in "I'm Stylin' Class".

I've just uploaded a video taken of Garrie awarding Steve the super-sized chainring. I didn't quite capture the prelude to this moment, but here it is....

Garrie, I saw your calculation for the pizza pie sized chainring over on brol. The problem is I'd need Steve Austin's bionic legs to push it. Does that qualify as 'human power'?

Thanks Mike.
That is surprising to me, I didn't feel as strong this year as last. The big difference was my computer went down 3 hrs into Sebring and I had no computer at HPRA Florida. Maybe I should take the new computer off and just ride.

Some records that were set this year and last. The Track Records page on the wisil site was last updated in 2010. So I went back and looked at the 2011 results and saw some records that weren't listed yet. Here's the 2011 & 2012 records...

Crit Course Records

Velodrome Records (corrected March 3, Jacquie set another record! in the 50-lap race)

Luck was on our side and despite very threatening weather at the start of Sunday, we managed to get all the racing in at the velodrome and were ahead of schedule as well. Lin and I went to the Seminole run casino the week before and I slipped one of the Elders a little something to take care of the weather for the race. It turns out to be money well spent.

Without the help of those that offered their assistance the race would not have possible or run as smoothly as it did. I appreciate all the assistance and expertise. There was so much help that my biggest job was herding the racers to the start line.

Catrike was the event sponsor again this year and I appreciate their support for without it, the race wouldn't happen.

Thanks to Garrie for offering some special prizes for specific events. His doing so added more fun to the event. I spoke to Steve Hansen after the award presentations and he treasures the "Go Fast 100 Tooth Chainring" that will allow him to go even faster on his trike next year.

Both the Bacchetta and Catrike teams showed why their bike and trikes are so popular by dominating in the event standings.

I appreciate all those who attended, some of whom invested significant time and/or money to do so.

I hope all had fun.

John Schlitter 200-meters on Velodrome....
http://youtu.be/qzsnBsTrRN0

John shows he can do well at the short-stuff = 200 meters. Last weekend he rode 200 meters 4155 times in a row over 24 hours at Sebring! Kent Polk and Jacquie Hafner also did very well in the 200, they rode the same 200 x 4155 last weekend! Piece of cake, right everyone?!

It was a great weekend of racing! Thanks John! It was a honor ro race against you and Kent. Bacchetta and CatTrike were well represented this weekend! I gained quite a few new friends and experiences to talk about. Thanks to Josh from Atlantic Cycles for his help and to Garrie for his help after the races on Saturday. Bruce did a great job with the results and was working on just now. I'm rooming wiht him and the Cortez's. Dora did a great job volunteering this weekend and running the timing system to allow Warren to focus more time on racing, which he did well at! I couldn't catch him or the B-team on Saturday.
This evening quite a few of us, including the Bacchetta team, and race director Jim went on the Shark Valley Trail and saw Alligators and other assorted wildlife. It was an experience riding through the Florida Everglades. More picts and videos to come over the next few days, as soon as we all settle down from our travels!

Exciting day of racing. John Schlitter, Kent Polk and Jacquie Hafner certainly weren't slowed down by their 516 miles in 24 hours last week at Sebring. Wow are they strong riders!

The Maple Mile, featured prizes of Maple Syrup "transported" across the border compliments of the race director, Mr. Jim, alias Canuck Loco (name changed to protect the innocent)

I ran a 2:06, coasting through the corners. Warren and Bryan Stevens weren't too far behind with a 2:08 and 2:10. Jacquie did 2:12 and Jay Hoover did a 2:13, and Steve Hansen, on his CatTrike did a 2:16. But then on their Bacchetta's Kent Polk did a 2:04 and John did a 2:01 for a new course record. So I decided to another run, this time pedalling through the corners for a 1:59.1, and another new course record. John went again too, and also broke the TWO-MINUTE MILE BARRIER with a 1:59.4, just a few ticks behind.

Here's a helmet cam video of my first run at 2:06

I had a bit of drama getting to the races, but ended up getting to Florida before the big snow, so it all worked out fine.

Today was a marvelous day for racing, and the 1 mile sprints, 20 lap race, and 200 meter events came off without a hitch.

Bruce did a great job of getting the results posted as the races were occurring, and the results are here

Mike Mowett beat the 1 mile standing start course record with a time of 1:59.1 (30.23 MPH Ave), Followed closed by John Schlitter who had a time of 1:59.4 (30.15 MPH).

In the 20 minute race, the "B" team took 1st and 2nd place with Kent Polk in first and John in second, followed by me about 1/2 a lap down.

For the 200 meter standing start sprints, we had a great tail wind. This event was won by Kent Polk who showed that he was clearly still fatigued from his great 24 hour ride last week at Sebring, by running through the traps in 13.47 seconds (33.21). He was followed closely by John S, then Brian Stevens, and me.

We are off to Romanos now for some Cuban food, then more racing tomorrow!

-Warren.

Anyone got suggestions for hotel's for this race. Can not remember what the one was we stayed at last year. I believe Warren and Gary stayed at the same place.

Not a big B crowd, Jacquie and I for sure with her daughter Lexi.

Should be fun, still feeling Sebring in the legs.

For anyone interested in race results, below is a link that will be constantly updated as results are available. Initially they will be very unofficial, but should be available almost instantaneously.

I suggest you bookmark this link so that they can be readily accessible on your phone, Ipad, etc.

One week till Florida!

BTW: Jim, Garrie, Chris - I was just reading online about this so-called Shark Valley ride. I didn't find any mentions of sharks, but did see the following
- mention of nasty insects, hot weather, subtropical climate.
- warnings that vultures (birds) will attack the rubber on your car tires (what about lowracer tires?)
- caution to never bike, ride or walk alone in the park, without letting a "friend" know where you're going.

Just what the heck goes on at this place?
